August Meeting and Raffle - DON'T MISS THIS!

Thanks botmfedr1! I am going to Sam's Club tomorrow, so I should be able to pick all of the supplies up. Thank you for offering to be one of my helpers :) Strayvoltage (John) and I will be there early too, to get set up.

i can't be there early but i should be there, hopefully with the family in tow.

poor rooster. if he had any sense at all he would've unbuckled and joined the meeting.

what time is early for you guys, I'm an Army-man and early for me is like ZERO-400 HOURS.

but im guessing you guys will be there at like 12ish, huh?

No army clock here :) 12ish is right! And nobody (like Justin, Steffen or John) better make a comment about tardiness....got it???

I'll also be there early to help out. Let me know if anyone needs a ride or if you need me to bring something!! Should be fun!!

Jay

I can't help but agree with Justin on this one. There are three different types of time. We have the normal 12 hr time or 24 hr military time and then of course there is Audrey time. Maybe she won't read this so we won't get in trouble for making a comment about it.

OMG! You guys are so true to form! I decided to only get hot dogs, chips and sodas (hamburgers are too much work :) ) to sell. If anyone wants to donate baked goods, please do so. I will get some cookies and cake and such tomorrow also. If you would like anything special to drink, please bring something. I have diet and regular coke and sprite only. This should be a great meeting, see you there! Oh and right now it is only 6 am in my world haha!

question: would it be appropriate/inappropriate to bring some equipment i am looking to get rid of? I just want to make sure i am doing the right thing.

I'm looking to get rid of a Hamilton Tech metal halide light fixture, complete calcium reactor system, some live rock, crushed coral and anything else i have.

Let me know, thanks.

also, i am bringing chips, some Coke, tables, chairs, big "arse" cooler and ice.

Would beer be out of the question?

Dennis would have to answer those types of questions. I am gonna pick up some bottled water too for the snack bar.
Is there anyone willing to donate some ice?

i am going to bring about 30 lbs of ice.

if anyone has time, maybe they can forward that question to Dennis for me. my iphone is Kapputt!!!

Hey all this is Alex met some of you today. I had glasses and a blue smurf shirt on. Great community we got going and can't wait to see some of the tanks you guys have in person! Me and my cousin will start our build threads once the stands are ready. Nice seeing you all.

apfroggy0408, welcome to STARS and Reef Central. I am glad you made it to the meeting and look forward to having you attend many more.

Thanks to all that came out today to the meeting and helped support STARS.

Thanks to My Saltwater World for donating the tank and for hosting the meeting today.

We had a nice turn out today and a lot of new people showed up. It will be nice to see all of the new people that were there today at future meetings as well as all the people that have been going to meetings for a long time.

Great meeting! This was just a meeting to introduce ourselves, socialize and of course win an aquarium!!

Congratulations to the winner (sorry I did not get her name)!

Glad to meet all of the new people and was really good to see some of the other members (I don't want to say old!) I hadn't seen in awhile. I hadn't seen Ben in about a year I think!! I really hope this sets off a whole lot of interest in upcoming meetings. I only took one pic of a certain guest looking down on another but Ryan had his SLR so hope he can post the pics he took!! Oh, also BIG thanks to Keith for bringing the green slimmer frags!! Awesome!!!

Oh yes huge thanks to Audrey for all her hard work and making something new and different happen at this meeting. Huge thanks to botmfedr1 also for all the help and bringing items for the food booth.

We won't even mention the time Audrey finally showed up!

I think that rooster was stalking Justin for leaving him in the car seat in the truck that time. He will be after me next time for leaving him in my car for a few hours before I let him come out and join all of us.

It was nice to meet some new friends as well as make some new ones. The rooster is safe and sound after staring at Justin from the snack tent rafters. Thank you to everyone that pitched in to set up, cook (special thanks to John), sell and clean up. It was a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon as always. A special thanks to Mondo (sp?) for donating items for the snack bar and bring tables, chairs, cooler, etc. I hope some new people join us in the forum and upcoming meetings. Thanks for donating the tank for raffle and letting us use the store, Dennis.
