Aurora Goby

I recently purchased a fish I'd never seen before, an Aurora Goby (Amblyeleotris aurora). I spent some time trying to find pictures of them on the Web, but even these seem to be relatively sparse, so I thought I'd share mine. The goby is in a nano, and that curved front glass is nearly impossible for photography, so that's just the way it goes.

All shots are with the Canon 20D. The photo of him in the cave is with the 17-40mm F/4L, the other two are with the 28-135mm IS.

I just bought a pair with a Randall's Shrimp off liveaquaria, but mine picked a hole at the back so I don't seem them often. Called Aurora and Pinkbar. I have seen prices from $15 to $80. I paid more because it was a pair with shrimp. Honestly, one of the prettiest fish I think.

What is it eating?

He'll eat just about anything meaty. I mostly feed him frozen mysis, and he takes those down pretty quickly. He doesn't seem to be real big on either pellets or flakes.

The aurora is also often referred to as the Pinkbar Goby, so it sounds like you have the same fish.

By the way your Pic's are very good. Im strugling with my new Nikon SLR D 70s my pic's look like crap. Im trying to find a macro lens that will get where your pic's are at. I just don't know how to use it yet to many buttons and numbers. I miss my point and shoot.
