Aussie eligance coral in trouble

dropped something on elegance and some of the tenticals shriveled up and looked really bad. Several hours later the damaged tenticals are being sucked into the mouth and it looks like the blue tips are being eaten. Will these die, will the entire coral die is there anything I can do?

OMG OMG THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!

lol Sorry just read your post like it's the end of the world. Don't you stick your finger in your mouth if you cut it, or bang it?

Seriously though, leave it be, It will recover on it's own. Corals really aren't that fragile like people tend to think they are.

Sorry my writing was trivial to you but this morning I found that every tentical that was drawn into its mouth has been eaten down to a nub. Just never have heard of a coral eating itself. And just to clarify I don't put my fingers in my mouth injured or not.

Elegance corals, regardless of origin can be problematic at best.
Any damage to this coral may lead to a quicker ending.
That being said there are people that have been able to keep them for years, but I would think that's the exception, not the rule.

Nothing you can do now but keep and Eye on it and hope infection does not set in.
