Aussie Gold Torch

Awesome Richard! This can be the second coming of bbeb that has been in circulation the last few years.

update.

some of the babies heads are growing quickly. i noticed them stinging my favorite stag on one side. The heads where growing in the rocks and i was able to pop off 2 of the three heads. The heads i removed I glued on some rocks. I will see how they heal up.

Here are some pictures of the baby colony in July. It's definitely grown a lot and now stinging corals. I removed it with a screwdriver trying to pop it off the rock. The skeleton is pretty thin and some of it broke. I attempted to July the main skeleton on base rock and let them heal for a while. I think they should recover fine as I craved some frogspawn recently and some of the heads tore now they are almost healed

Here is some pictures of them now after glued to the rock. So far so good. I think they will just need some more time to heal. I still have a baby head on the original location that was not removed and a second baby colony that is in the center of the aquarium that one when fully opened is about 5 inches . Not that bad for a year of growth. It's just the skeleton that grows the slowest

Hello everyone thanks for the pms and such of the interest of buying these. Nothing is for sale at the moment. These will time to heal and more about documentation of the spawning of these. If I could assist other in success of doing the same it would be great as well. Once they will be for sale I will reach out to those active on this thread first. Then if needed crest a sale thread. Thanks and hope to get better shots of them this weekend

I had another spawning event. so far with the dirty glass I see 3 new heads forming throughout the tank. Still unknown what is causing this. It is interesting as I did cut a chunk of the mother colony about a month ago. I do not know if I cause it by stressing the coral or recent full moon. Pictures to come after the tank is wiped down.

The first picture is the tiny baby under the efflorescence.
The second picture is the larger baby upper left above the spawn baby from sometime ago.

Yes pictures are horrible as the are on the inside of structures and tank is wide and tall. I really need to get out my macro set up

Pretty awsome Richard. A question how many torch colonies do you have in your tank and how big are they? How many heads? Curious on the root of this spawning/attachments.

Hello James,
I only have one colony of these in my tank. There is the spawning colony still growing on it. I tried to remove a section of my spawn some time ago and it was broken into pieces some made it others did not. It was great joy removed as it was stinging my other corals here is a picture of the mother colony. I would guess 7 to 10 heads but with the flow in my tank the heads are really close together. I will post the chunk that I fragged and I would call this a 4 head but it’s growing and splitting into it to me it just gets wider not getting branches or anything
