Aussie Hammer receding fast. help!

Is there anything I can do about this. Here's the story -
I had been ramping lights up by 100% past two weeks. then I had a nitrate spike Wednesday 40ppm - that's when I noticed the hammer was not extending. so I moved it to the corner of the tank for lower light. yesterday evening it started showing skeleton. this mornig, looks like it's getting worse.

water's fine now after carbon dosing - nitrates 0, phosphates 0. what should I do. I'm going to do coral rx dip for 30 mins. then iodine dip. then what?

It seems its losing tissue.
You should dip it and you should also see if theres any fish bothering the coral.

not long. seems it got weak from a nitrate spike and then couldn't take the bright lights of LED. when I moved it into shade (yes shade) tissue loss stopped.
