Aussie Spider Sponge

I have heard that most times the sponge will die. the zoas have to be fed but the polyp can outgrow the sponge and smother it

I picked up one from my LFS in december. It was shipped from Miami to Trinidad and listed as a gorgonian, so unknowing to the LFS and myself at the time. We both took it out the bags after dripping like any other coral and not under water as a sponge has to be handled. Since that time it has receded a bit and is now picking back up. The polyps dont open up during the day (with bright lights on), but late at night and early morning only when my tru-lumens deep blue led's are on. They are lily white. I have a 30" tall tank and since i got it, it's been on the sand bed.
