Aussie Stawberry Shortcake Acro

Mine still seems to be holding up pretty well and is growing like crazy. Had a bout with RTN on the large piece I go 5 months or so ago. Was forced to frag it up into several pieces an mounted them together. they have since all fused and encrusted together ino a large colony sized piece.

Lights are off right now but will see if I can get a pic later today.

I've had my frag for close to three months. I received it from Unique Corals. It is still a frag but growing well and it has colored up very nicely. The pink is pink and the interior branches are showing a nice lime green. I feel like mine has only colored up better and better since getting it. When it came in it was failry dull and browned out from shipping, within a few weeks the pink was really developing, the lime green has come in more slowly.

wow I wished I would have been 2 seconds faster. Nice piece who ever got it, o by the way I hate you forever for not letting me get it, lol.

not Eric, Bryan.

It frag up very poorly. About 60% of the frags I have made of it seem to perish in the receiver's tank.

Long term keepers of this coral, how is the color holding up? Is it still as vibrant from when you first recieved it, or has it become dull? I got a 2" frag 3 months ago, it has grown nicely but has become really dull, losing most of the pink. All my other Aussie frags are colored up nicely, even better then first recieved. With that said, I can only conclude that the strawberry shortcake does not retain it colors well. Can people please share their personal experience with the colors of this coral?

For many months, mine held it's beautiful color, even coloring up more. It showed growth and was doing great. During this time, it was on a frag rack, about 14" from T5 lighting. A couple of weeks ago, I cut it off the frag plug and glued it to rock work, about 20" below the lighting. It almost INSTANTLY turned brown. It has continued to show great polyp extension, but is still brown, with a slight green coloration. I think it's time to move it higher in the tank.

Very strange, I don't think it's the lack of light, more so the stress of been cut and placed in a new spot that it's not used to. Move it back and keep us updated.

From day one mine has sat about 15" from light. It encrusted very fast and showed great polyp extention. There was noticable pink/green, but nothing to brag about. As the frag grew it became more brown yet heathy. Mine is sitting 9" from the water surface, I think it's getting plenty of light from 3 x 250w DE. All other frags are more vibrant in colors, I might move it to see if anything changes.

Wow that is HUGE colony, very nice looking as well.

I think you don't need photoshop if just adjust color to match real world, any photo editing software have the function. But I imagine PS combine with RAW format give you the best result.
