All of mine have proven to be pretty adaptable. I have some under 400w halides (though out on the margins of the tank) and some under 6x54w T5s. As long as you dont really blast them with direct halides, they seem to adjust pretty well. They open best under a moderate to low current; strong flow will keep them closed up, and may erode tissue if too extreme. They will eat very aggressively given the chance. Overall, I would say the care is a lot like Acanthastrea, Cynarina, and other common mussids.
