AUSTRLALIAN r0cksteady's attempted 8ft (500G'ish) Angelfish compatible REEF display

Wow! What a photo bomb! It is so great to see that you are successful keeping all these various azoos with hard corals. The colours they bring to your tank (and movement, I imagine) make your aquarium dazzling.

There was one azoo in the left centre of this previous image, the orangey one growing laterally in this image (whose name I can't now recall) that doesn't appear in your newer images. What was it's fate and what was it like to keep while you had it?

Bummer about the big tank-crash, but mad props on the re-boot. Strange about the bio pellets causing an outbreak like that, but not unheard of. Miracle Mud can have the same effect on a mature system. It's against many companies recommendations to do so. I've told several reefers about following the directions, but they just hate on the products instead.

Your new corals are beautiful. Even though you say they haven't colored up they are still remarkable. I love to see tanks where people have pushed the established boundaries on what fish and corals can successfully be kept. On that subject, have you seen Ching Chai's NPS tank. He has a small tank separate from the large DT where he can keep very sensitive filter-feeders. Once a day he just isolates it from the system and dumps in a huge amount of food for the corals. The corals get to pig out for an hour, and then he turns a valve and the huge amount of food gets quickly diluted in his system's vast water volume.

We're looking forward to seeing your tank mature with these wonderful specimens.
Could you shoot a video of your tank. Nothing special. Just five minutes or so panning back and forth. Your pics are excellent, and I would really look forward to adding another great video to my Youtube fav's.

Daniel.

Hi Jason,
Awesome journal!! Just wanting to know what you thought of your chiller (quality/function)?
I have a large system I'm about to set up and I'm looking for a chiller.
Thanks Jason
Ben
