lol thats funny....i just had the clown for my cousin...but i like it...my tomato clowns would tear it up.....you could do a deep sad bed in there or just use the macro...and have a remote deep sand bed...you have the room in there!
 
i love the word room now just because I finally have it :D :D you were holding for your cousin.... well I think it was a sweet idea. lol im doing it, hopefully he doesnt go out the return hole, (have to get a strainer) lol I like the LFS sale idea as well. =]
 
next check I'm ordering one pendant and most likely a bulb, and then just waiting on my ballast, I'm going to have one for a while but its going to at least let me get some stuff in there and booming until I get my 2nd, and in the mean time I'm going to leave the PCs I have on there now just on the side I don't have my halides on. :D So the tank will actually look lit at least. :)

Also, for all who are following, I'm getting my first setup of halides next check, not this today friday but next friday I get paid and will be ordering,,,

After thats all said and done its time for me to add another fish, right now its

-Maroon Clown
-Green Chromis

Good idea for a next fish??? Throw all opinions at me,,,,

also comment on how everythings coming alone,,, good, bad, whatever, don't be afraid to speak up. =]
 
i think its awesome when youcan have a school of like 6-8 green chromis in a tank. can't wait to getmy 90 set up to do this.

What about getting a yellow tang to help clean up any algea? or a blue powder sturgeon? Both those fish are very common at lfs
 
looking good...sure that tub will hold up the fuge though long term that is...and the hole drilled into the sump from the fuge...is that tight around it or not...saying this because if the power goes off...the sump will fill up a bit higher and if its above that hole...that means a flood...looking good though!!
 
wow didnt even realized you had the last post in here, yea that is tight around the fuge drain,,,, =] and...................... yea that tub seems to be doing alright.... my only down fall is, I think I want a bigger return pump..... word of the day today for me is FUTURE. lol

cant wait to order my lights though friday! :)
 
I'd be a little concerned about how you have the plumbing going to your fuge. It looks backward to me...

You have the valve going to your fuge completely open and the valve to your sump partially closed. If the valve to your sump were to clog, you would have ALL of your water going to your fuge, and probably a flood as the drain line doesn't look like it would keep up.

You could fix this by having the pipe leading straight down feed the fuge and the offshoot feeding the sump.

hey this is ben idk if you know me im adrians friend. i just wanted to say hi and i wanted to ask you a few questions about salt water. im setting up my first salt tank for x-mass. My first question is do you know were i can get safe water from. I dont have money to buy one of those r/o filter things. my second qustion is what all do i need to start out with i have the tank the filter the heater today my mom got me sea salt a hydrometer and sand what else do i need i have test kits and stuff from my freshwater tanks any info will help me out im sure ill see you at nates one of these days.

its cool... uhhh im me... strothman18, or just call my cell one day,, or ill just talk to you at nates... theres a lot of good newbie start up areas on here that will have most answers for you,,, and by filter I hope you mean a skimmer not a HoB Whisper or something lol... It'd be better if I can show you my setup, or talk in person, way easier...
 
and holmster ***? my plumbing is backwards? last time I checked my water is flowing down not up for my drains, but w/e and I have it split like that if I leave my main drain open all the way 0 water flows to the fuge......
 
So I got my Chaeto today,,, a pretty nice big ball, sorry no pics but its in my fuge and pieces are going everywhere. =/ lol little stragglers,,, so thats some good news, also got my chromis a couple partners so he can feel more safe...

heres some updated pics, my tang has 100% cleared up, I don't know if I mentioned it previously or not, I haven't seen him scratch in the past 3 days. :)
