Auto top off recommendation

I am looking for an auto top off solution for my 28 gallon tank. The one that seems to be recommended most often is the Tunze Osmolator 3155. I don't have a sump on this tank so the solution will have to work from within the main tank. The issue I am wondering about is that I have a fair amount of surface agitation with constant 1/4 ripples. I expect this to increase once my 6055 arrives (I'm pretty far down the list so it will be a while I guess). The description for the Osmolator says that small waves will not irritate the unit.

OK, the question: will the surface agitation cause a problem for the Osmolator's sensors or cause it to fill erratically?

It won't though it will fill to where the low points of the ripples are the fill level. It has to register no water for about 6 seconds before it turns on and it pumps for about 10 seconds after it registers full. This is done specifically to avoid this problem.
