Automatic skimmer 3110/2 not skimming

bought an Automatic skimmer 3110/2 few months back but still trying to get it to work! It is not skimming. I can see bubbles around the neck area but don't seem to move any higher to the cup. If I turn it strong enough to catch the bubbles, eventually it only fills the cup with water. Pls help.

First make sure the pump is clean and the venturi is properly assembled, be sure the hose is not kinked. The skimmer should have about 1" of the brown plastic above the water. The venturi screw should be open 3 full turns. From here you just need to be patient and let it work. Opening the venturi more will make larger bubbles which are ineffective. You might also make sure the venturi intake port is clean, undo the screw and run a pipe cleaner through the hole. Always start the skimmer with the venturi fully closed.
