Autotop off just set up!

I just put together my own auto-top-off system I bought a float switch from AquaHub and use a microject powerhead.

I want to use this top-off water to double as my Kalkwasser doser too. How does everyone else setup the water?

Do I need to prepare some kalk a day ahead of time to allow the solution to saturate or would it be just as well to dump in the necessary amount of powder in my freshwater container and mix it directly? I'm sure there's nothing wrong with preparing it seperaately but I want to save some time if possible.
