Avatar Question

I know i've asked this before, but i forgot to check up on it. I was wondering how to put an avatar on my user name. I know what to do, but i get stuck on the size, i can get the pixels down to 150 but i dont know how to reduce the size down to 8k bytes.

<----- not having any first hand experience i can only give general advice. sounds like the color depth is too high. I'd try saving using 256 colors. image size is tied to pixels wide x pixels high x # of colors. obviously this is a bit simplified but you get the idea. Jpeg or jpg can be saved using a higher compression which makes the Kb smaller too.

If you have trouble with the programs you are using I would try irfran(freeware) or shoot me a PM and i can whack it down in size for ya.

Ah ok, yeah i use irfran, ill try to adjust the color to 256.

Have you tried using irfran in conjunction with photo bucket?
Worked for me.
