Ping - my turn to post in the up to sticking late thread.... I REALLY hope to post less in this thread this week as I REALLY need to start getting to be by freaking midnight. We'll see how that goes. I expect each and every one of you to give me what for if you see me posting in here late at night.... Or something like that...........
Now to a REAL post...
Gerald - about those Zoanthids. It's worth noting that they will likely be impossible to ID at a meeting as they will be all peaved off and closed up. Rather, work to get a good picture or 2 or 3 or 10 ahead of time, post it in this forum, and we will do our best to ID.
Now for one of my soapboxes - attempting to ID many corals, such as zoanthids, to common names or species is often a comical effort. Common names are often some random name that someone made up, OFTEN someone selling them and trying to make money off of them. Species is just plain impossible for most cases.
However, I'd say an ID down to the genus is very possible and probably somewhat useful.
But heck, who cares, it's 2:30 in the morning and I'm going to get 5-6 hours of sleep. Fun day ahead.....
Nite all!!!
