it will be well worth the wait.

and yes Richard is a One man Show at this time, long story.... he had to take a big loss a few years back when the gulf had a really bad year of "Red Tide" etc....
but he hung in there and keeps going.

Poor Richard... coming home to a possible hurricane strike. Good luck buddy.

well what I see right now does not look like it will be very much.
that could change of course.

I've lived in St.Pete and Tampa since 2000, seen some nasty storms come our way.

*if* this one heads right to us *AND* if it gets to a Cat2 or more I will be more worried than I am right now.

MOST of the time storms will keep on a north-west track so most of the time they do not hit Tampa directly, Punta-Gorda was a very strange storm. it made a "hook" back to FL.

Have to see the track after it crosses cuba.

if it clears cuba and is tracking north or north east and if it gains strength to cat 1 or higher then we really have to watch out.

It is DEFINITELY worth the wait. Here is my tank about 9 weeks after installing the Package:

Once Richard returns I am placing a Package order for my 6g nano :D

Nice!

How big is your tank.

Did you have to do anything special to get it going or you just follow the website setup instructions?

well as of last news looks like tampa will have a nice big storm with rain and wind but not a hurricane. by this time tomorow we should be getting most of it -- unless it changes track or speed.

If he is not going to try diving the aquaculture site until the 24th then he should be okay with the storm hitting TB tomorrow. Do you think it will change track or speed?

Denny, do you SCUBA dive?

It's 55 gallons. I followed his setup instructions to the letter, and nothing more. He does include more detailed instructions with each part as well.

SCUBA -- not yet.... I have some things I have to do this year but next year... just might get the lessons, gear etc... :D

so far as the local storms... so far I think all this is going to do out there on the reef for the tampa site is give it a good "rinse and wash" but his site in the Keys may be a mess... that's where the storm has done more damage on land so figure that may have some issues.

I have a fair Idea where the tampa site is but I have not checked where his keys site is at... so I don't have any real idea how hard it might have been hit.

In other news I think my Slipper Lobster got eaten -- or he moulted his shell.
the other day I saw what looked like the front carapace but it was not in a location I wanted to mess with at the time.
right next to my carpet anemonie - who can spread to about 12 inches and likes to sting!
one sponge seems to be not so good, going to have to check on it.
it's a kind of blue-gray color, has some dead areas, I hope the base lives and re-grows :(

other than that my new added stuff looks very good so far!
I may post some new pictures tonight.

only if I had a dime for every person who has said that! ;)

It sounds like your slipper lobster probably molted. That's what I saw when mine molted. Didn't you just get it with your new stuff Richard sent you?

Sorry to hear about the blue sponge :sad2: They are so hard to keep, or so I'm learning.

WOW...12 inch spread on your carpet anemone?! You definitely need to post some pics.

Yeah, I am sure... yes the slipper was in my new stuff from richard, I hope he just shed, with the amount of stuff in my tank it's a bee to try and look for one small guy.
the other day when I did a W/c I saw the tiger goby for a few minutes, the pumps were off so I guess he came out to see what was going on :)

*MOST* sponges do well for me, that guy was in a bag of the rock and got some air time which did not help, I did not see it at first.
I have some black that seems to be really tough and does nice.
some ball that has been making more small balls but mostly in the back where you can't see them unless I take a huge rock out that must be 30-40 pounds -- not fun to lift out of a 90 tank, kind of like an olyimpic warm up "with one hand lift 40 pounds over your head w/o breaking $700 lights or the glass box and do not drop on feet..."

Back!

Back!

OK

Back in the world!

Mexico was WAY cool......but moved around a lot....8 hotels in nine days.....and a few thousand miles....planes, trains and buses.....

Copper Canyon was impressive, but my fav town was El Fuente , was a really neat town, with very friendly folks, in fact I did not run into one unfriendly person on the whole trip.

Bad news is that Fay messed up the gulf, so will try to dive Thursday for the folks waiting for rock!

Welcome back, Richard! Did you eat local food and drink local beer? Did you bring back good tequila? ;)

You will probably have 3" viz on thursday, you have my sympathy. Has the storm cooled off the water significantly? I have a question. It's time to replace my deceased cleanup crew. Do you keep these guys in holding tanks? Should I send you an email with what I need?
