I plan on setting up a 5-gallon bucket/powerhead type topoff and was wondering if I can mix both of the B-ionic components in that bucket with the topoff water.

Thanks

Scott

What I understand is that you cannot mix both parts together they have to be added to the tank one at a time
Hope this helps

Yes, if you mix the two parts, you get a lot of heat and then precipitation, IIRC. There are dosers for the two-parts, if you're interested. Lime is cheap and works for a lot of people (like me), too.

you would be able to add the b-ionic to 5gal of water and use it. BUT it would be pointless and a complete waster of your money. you can only treat that 5 gallons. if you over treat the 5gal, then you will precipitate the calcium out almost instantly. by dosing the 5gal you wont be able to get any noticible amount of calcium or bicarbonate into your system if you did it as you plan. the only way to automate dosing a 2 part is with a dosing pump that will dose atleast 2 seperate additives like bertoni said.

if you are looking for a way to add calcium to your system with out having to manually dose daily i would look into using Kalkwasser (limewater) as well. you should be able to use it like you want with a 5 gal bucket. just mix it in a seperate bucket so you can seperate the "useable" water after mixing.

if none of this made sense im sorry its early in the morning LOL

Believe it or not it does make sense. I know kalk is cheaper to so I guess I'll have to check pros and cons. Thanks for the help gang.
