B&W ORA Ocellaris Clowns are not eating!

well I have lost track of how long it has been but the one guy has still not eating. The one that is eating seems to be doing much better.

It has been about 2.5 weeks now and they are eating but still do not look very good. They both still have a white flaky/slimy stuff on their sides and fins. If this was just ich I would have expected it to be gone by now. Should I treat them for fungus?

It almost sounds like brook, which to me is becoming more and more common among B&W clowns more than any other...

Thanks reefman13. I will try and get some Formalin at the LFS tomorrow. I hope they hang in there for me. They have had a rough 3 weeks!

I've got sort of the same problem..

2 true percs from tongs in FV

I haven't had good luck with the fish I bought there, so I probably won't be going back.

but anyhow.. looks like my guys parasites got more serious over the past few days.. I did a formalin dip as well as r/o freshwater dip and gencure in the tank and quickcure in the tank today.

i know it's stressing them out, but they are hanging on.. female hasn't eaten in a couple days.. male has eaten 1 pellet for at least a week now..

I did a ton of reading before I dosed my tank.. couldn't get prazipro locally so I just used "general cure" which contains prazi in a powder form. At least my guys quit scraping against the powerheads though..

I could not find Formalin 3 locally so I used Wardley Wellness Ick Out Sensitive. There were no directions for dipping so I just followed the mixing instructions for a regular treatment but only dipped the fish in it for 35 minutes.

The container states that it is 5.55% Formaldehyde and to mix 5ml per 10 gallons. I dipped them in a 1,000 ml container with .13 ml of the medication. Hopefully the solution is strong enough for a dip. I ordered Formalin3 from Marine Depot and it should be here in time for my second treatment.

After 3 treatments the clown that is left still has white flaky stuff on his sides. Should I treat him with Formalin3 again?

sorry to hear.. hope the other one makes it..

I took my female out of the QT tank last week for one last quickcure dip and one last r/o dip and put it in my main tank. Shes eating really well, shows no more symptoms and is getting along great with a new perc male I purchased for her.

The male still in the QT however still hasn't eaten. I'm about to move it to another tank that doesn't have medication and go from there. He's all shriveled up, but doesn't seem to have any more parasites.

I think the general cure stuff worked in combination with the quickcure(formalin/malachite green) dip and r/o dip.

I just don't know why the other one still refuses to eat..

He is looks good and I have started raising the salinity. I want to get the quarantine tank up and running for a second B&W clown that I have my eye on.
