baby cardinals

Great!! I suspect that you don't have a long spine sea urchin or a fake one for the babies to go into. Is the male still holding the rest in his mouth?

I have a long spine sea urchin and that is where one of the babies went but the flow in the big tank was too much for him. All of the babies are out but some got eaten by the other fish. We managed to get three out of the tank into a small tank. They are now two days old.

Are they eating frozen food now? They grow faster once they are on prepared/frozen food.

It was very difficult to get mine weened to prepared/frozen food. A few from my second batch did well when I started keeping them with baby clownfish. Some learned to eat pellets watching clownfish eating them. A pair of them that grew up with the clown babies still refuse to eat any pellets and flakes while another pair eat them without any problem.

If you want to try growing them with my clown babies a little later, let me know. I will select small ones for you.

Tomoko,
I am going try this weekend on prepared food. I will let you know how that goes.
Thanks, for the offer on the clowns but hopefully I can get them to eat them on their own. I don't have space the the clowns once they grow.
