Can I feel newly hatched clowns this food? http://www.reefnutrition.com/rotifeast.html I understand the traditional way it to make phyto plankton and feed a culture of rotifers, then feeding the clowns the living rotifers. However I would like to try raising a few clowns with out setting up all the food growing stuff. Would this product be a substitute to live rotifers?

Thanks,
Mike

I wouldn't. To date the people that have tried had very poor results. it's thought that the larvae clue into the actual movement and some bio cue from the live rotifers themselves. While the label does say larval fish, this is not one you can use it for :( The fish it's worked on are not in the MO trade but rather the aquaculture trade and scientific research (genetic research).

Ok if I was to get serious about doing this, what kind of supplies will I need? Can somebody give me a shopping list, or have a link to a list? Are there any really good books, or web articles about making the food and the whole process of raising baby clowns.

Read this sticky thread at the top of this forum. All you ever wanted to know, and more, about growing microfoods ;)
