Spawn New Broodstock System!!
I just build this broodstock system in an extra room in the basement. The first picture is nano tank 1 of 6 babies born on July 28. Picture two is nano tank 2 with 6 more babies born on the same day. Picture three is my whole system. The top shelf is (4) five gallon tank, second shelf is (3) ten gallon tank, third shelf is 18.5 gallon growout and the bottom is the sump. The 30 gallon sump has about 40lbs of live rock, filter sock, two sponge filters, small uv, 300watt heater and quietone 3000 pump. The 4th pic has the last baby born on Oct. 9. The top shelf has the ocellaris parents and the next shelf has a new tomato clown pair. The last pic is the 30 larvae born on Halloween. I also have live phytoplankton and rotifer buckets in another room.
I know a lot of people have breed saltwater fishes. How can I improve my setup or change what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for looking and the help. Sorry I was so long winded!! I have this same post on Manhattan Reefs with more detail!

Can I ask a dumb question. What do you use to mount the return lines? Right now I'm setting up 4 tanks on a rack and I'm looking around wondering what i'm going to use to hold my return line in place.

I use the cheap plastic straps that plumbers use. I just strap the 1 1/2" pvc returns to the 2x4 frame work. I will try to take a picture of it for you later.

Just add a black & white clown and percula pair to may set up. I may get a pair of bangaii cardinals soon. It would be nice to breed the bangaii cardinals.

Great setup. Would love to learn the breeding process better and create something similar someday. How did you get started breeding? Any suggestions?

A lot of people breed clowns , be different and have some others. You have a good looking setup! Do cardinals! Make sure they are cb as the wc die easily and quickly... Mandarins need a place in your tanks too....... But glad you are breeding!

geomarq, i just did a lot of research on live phtyoplankton and rotifers. After that, I did a lot of experimenting with them. When I finally was able to raise them sucessfully, the clowns was actually easy. President89, i will try to get you that picture. clownfishfan, yes , my next goal, is bangaii cardinals. I have a pair available. I'm just waiting until the petstore catches them for me.

How do you keep the bottom of the larvae/juvenile tank container clean as to me this is the toughest daily chore out there!
