I got this little guy today, the LFS said it's a maxima, this is my first clam so I just want to confirm. Thank you. The clam is about 1.5"

It appears to be one but unless you take a picture from the side showing the shell, I couldn't 100% verify

by the pattern on the mantle it looks to be a max for sure, if it has several scutes on the side of the clam that would be the final evidence saying its a maxima....not that lfs mistakenly ID there clams as well...I have bought a crocea before when the lfs owner arugued the point that It was a maxima lol....

yes it has several scutes on the shell so I guess it's a maxima. Where can I get Live Pytho, I been dosing the tank with Kents Pythoplex is this stuff any good?

I personally prefer DTs. You will need to feed it at least 2-3x/week or more since it's only 1.5inches.

Looks good and good luck!

Yup. You should see some mantle when the lights cut off. Also, I would get a small rock and wedge it under the sand. That way he can place his foot on it.

So far so good with this little one, I put a shell under and he is attached now but he is turning around is this normal?

Hey guys just posting the progress with this little one. I think I've seen some growth, I see a new layer of shell. Check it out!

Nine months later! check this guy out it's the size of the shell under him. The clam turned blueish, brownish and green.
