i just went and checked on my tank. the lights have been off for about an hour. i turn on one of the lights and found a little "slug" roaming around. i watched it a lttle more and noticed its growing a shell. i dont have a good enough camera to get a good shot, sorry. but yeah i was just wondering how often snails reproduce? and is this normal? i've never heard of anyone's snails multiplying. are my hermits going to tear it apart as soon as they find it?

Look up stomatella and see if that's what you have. They usually hitchike in and multipy pretty readily.

No, they never grow anymore shell. Ugly little buggers, but handy to have around.
