baby starfish

i recently inherited a starfish, and it had a baby starfish. It was a rather unexpected discovery when my friend spotted a starfish the size of a pinkynail in my tank earlier this evening. Now, the question is: what do i do? How do i care for it? And how do you typically care for starfish in general? any feedback/tips would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry your starfish didnt have a baby.. that small star your seeing is an asterina starfish a common hitchhiker on LR and corals.

yea, i thought it was a bit odd. so what is this asterina starfish? is it bad/good? any details?

they are good. I did not see any until about 2 months after adding the last piece of live rock, I am not sure which rock they came on. I can spot about 3-4 in my tank. I don't know if they reproduce easily, I hope they do. I would like to know if they have predators.

they reproduce very quickly and are usually considered a pest because they can multiply and reach large numbers fairly quickly. some wrasse will eat them. they multiply by dropping limbs, usually if i see one i pick it out. jmo.
