Back after 7 years..... Nano 10g

Well it was sorta fun but I think i've been beat at the nano tank. I've tried everything the PH is now below 7.8 and no matter what I do nothing will help. I've lost a fish and now my coal are dying. Everything looks good I even have the light at 8%.

Instead of marine buffer have you tried something a bit stronger? I use a combination of soda lye and washing soda to keep pH above 8.1. With even just washing soda the nano struggled with 8.0. And without really ramping up dosing it would try to find 7.8 or so.

If you have a small doser I would try getting your nano on it. Just be careful as soda lye can cause chemical burns and respiratory distress when mixing.

So I got it figured out. The light was the issue. Not sure why but I got a kessil A80 and they are loving it so far. Hammer, galaxy, GSP and zoa's.

Finally back home after 2 months on the road working and wanted to add a skimmer. I ended up getting the Bubble Magus MiniQ Nano. Right from the start it was skimming and silent. Fish and corals are doing good just not any growth but for the GSP. My GSP looks like it has a sponge growing with it and just found a small aiptasia. Looking with a flashlight I have found a bunch of small life forms starting to emerge so tank must be healthy and getting over the new tank syndrome. coralline algae is starting to grow all over too.

Generally they don’t cause issues, but if it seems to be smothering the GSP, I’d probably work on removing some of it

First week with new skimmer, it works amazing and the tank is much more clear. Seeing some growth in coral too.
