Back at it again but this time I'm going Big

Hi, just wondering what is the model and dimension of your MH reflector? It seems quite compact. Thanks!

I was looking at the CoralVue Lumen Bright Metal Halide Single Ended Reflectors that measure 20x20x9. There will be 23" to 26" space between the top of the tank to the ceiling.

After 3 months of waiting anxiously, the new tank and sump have finally arrived at the house from Miracles Aquarium builder. Final dimensions for the tank are 40.5" x 96" x 30", sum is 27" x 84" x 21". Now to finish building the stand and get this up and running.

Update time.

Plumbing is finally finished, water and sand has been added and the tank is operating (water is still cloudy from the sand). Next step, hang the lights, plumb the reactors and get this tank cycling.

Just curious but why did you go with Miracles instead of customaquariums.com?

The tank looks awesome by the way. Definitely following along.

How do you like the new tank? Builder and all? Im looking at a 8' tank and trying to figure out which builder to go with.

She is finally all up and running. Finished most stuff up over the weekend and now sitting back and waiting for the cycle to complete. I have a feeling I am going to need to figure out something to bring the water temp down though because I don't even have heaters in the tank and it is staying between 76 and 78 degrees. I am guessing that the heat being generated is from the 4 Reeflo Dart/Snapper pumps.

Well after the first day with the lights running all day, the tank is heating up more than I thought. Got home from work and the water jumped to 80 and is still climbing. The tank is giving off a massive amount of heat in my kitchen and dining room. I'm going to install the ventilation fan this weekend to vent the air out of the roof like I originally planned on. Hopefully it helps some but I think Its going to need a chiller because come summer the house will be much warmer than it is now. I was hoping it wasn't going to come to this but I guess it has. Any suggestions on a good efficient chiller for around 700 gallons of water volume?

So I unplugged 2 of the 4 pumps last night before bed and the temp dropped from 80 to 75 overnight. After it running all day with the two pumps and the lights on at 100% intensity, the temp only rose to 76 degrees. Tomorrow I am going to try plugging in one more pump and see how high the temp goes with another one plugged in.

I fixed the heat issue for now and will have to revisit it in the spring when the temp outside starts to rise and I can tell how the temp in the house will affect the tank temp. I ended up putting in the other impellers into the pumps to lower the flow and the heat situation completely went away. I now have one 500 watt heater in the sump that is handling the temp in the tank perfectly to maintain 79.0 degrees Fahrenheit. Now to sit back and research while the tank continues to cycle, which I still think something weird is happening to the process as I have never experienced a cycle like this before. Here is my view from my kitchen table.
