Hello fellow reefers i have been lurking for years.. I stopped reefing for a while but im back at it. My bro just gave me an oceanic biocube 14 so im jumping back into the reef game. Everyone follow along Id appreciate all the feedback.

I have about 75 lbs of fiji live rock I had for my old tank I had running. The rock has been sitting in old saltwater for about a year or so but I am currently curing about 25 lbs for my 14 gal biocube.

My plans are:
- I plan to upgrade the lighting to either an AI nano or just go with a couple boostled par30
- I plan on having majority lps and sps corals
- The fish I plan on getting are a pair of clownfish and one other fish I havent decided on yet.

Anybody with any suggestions or comments? I will greatly appreciate them.
Please follow me I will post pics as I go along. Thanks everyone!!!

I'm in the same boat, just picked up the same tank for my wife. Right now I'm planning on upgrading the lighting to LEDs, replacing the stock pump with an MJ900 or MJ1200 depending on which I can fit in better, and ripping out the bottom of chamber one and blocking the lower grate.

Thanks for everyones input.Sounds good I like the yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp pair.. I like the purple firefish too but ive read about them jumping iut of the tank. Has anyone experienced that?

U think I shiuld just go with stevesled biocube 14 kit? If I get an AI or some other light I will have to remove the lid. What light do u plan on getting?

I'm planning on doing the StevesLED kit myself. I can do the soldering myself to save a bit of money. I'm also going to be scrapping some of the black off the back to light the second chamber as a mini-fuge.

Sounds good to me I will probably try the same thing only I dont know how to solder and stuff so I may have to pay a little more money.:(

This is what I did. I like the Steve's LEDs, and I also converted the back to a fuge.

I have an occy clown and a yellow watchman goby/pistol shrimp in the tank and a brittle star. Plus various corals...green star polyps, ricordeas, mushrooms, zoas, acans, and a hammer coral that needs to be cut back. Since adding the LEDs the thing has gone from two heads to about seven. I don't even have any powerheads in this tank. I solely rely on the return for flow in the tank. But if you want to keep SPS then you will need more flow so I would look at getting an Vortech MP10. I think any other powerhead would take up too much room in tank with the dimensions of a Biocube14.

Thanks I really want sps so im gonna look around and see if I can find a used mp10 im not trying to spend too much for a brand new one. Do u have any idea where I can find one?
