b ionc is the best 2 part you can use.

I believe that Part B is usually the alk suppliment, but your pH could come up a hair also, so using buffer might actually be the way to go first. I'd shoot for a pH in the 8.2 range...(it does bear mentioning that when talking about pH it can swing a fair amount between day and night. Photosynthesis takes up CO2 and releases O2 so during the light period, the CO2 concentration in the water column is diminished. CO2 is acidic in solution, so the pH rises. During the night period, photosynthetic animals use respiration, which adds CO2 to the water column dropping the pH. If you took a reading at 3AM after your lights had been off for 6 hours, naturally the reading would've been low and you may not want to adjust the pH much. If it was toward the end of the light cycle, and you were just barely topping out at 8.0, then it may be worth raising slightly. 8.2-8.4 is considered by many to be the optimum range, with anything between 7.8 and 8.6 being acceptable.

The readings we're taken well after my lights went out, prob 5 hrs. So you were right during the day they are around 8.2ush

Then I'd use the alkalinity part of 2-part. If you read the directions on whatever you use (b-ionic, kent, etc) it will tell you whether it is the calcium or the alkalinity part. Make sure not to shock your system and do it all at once. :)

Are there any good alk siplements that I should look for, or any to avoid?

they are all basically the same. Don't pay for overpriced brand names - you will get the same results with Bulkreefsupply.com two part solution

Look Here

Or you could even just buy the alk part from them (which is soda ash)

Their two part solution follows Randys recipe

Tank is really looking good. Met Nate today and picked up a RBTA that is a marathon runner. I put him in one corner and he has traversed half the tank so far so....
Also got a small frag of Tubbs blues and a bright orange zoa with a neon green skirt. Both very bright. And a $1 monti-cap, looks good so far.

Taking some pics right now. Hoping some of them come out

Should've come to the last meeting

Wish I could have, unfournatually I work almost every Fri and Sat. I have a SLR that I am good with, took a few photo classes in college with it even, my point and shoot digital hates me though. I'm better off closing my eyes and just hitting the button with it.

I think the RBTA finally found a home for the night, hidden in a crack of course though. He is looking good though all bubbled out and tacking his body to the rock around the crack. Hopefully he can extend out more so I can accually see him and the clowns can host on him. Or maybe he'll continue wandering tommorrow?

definitely put the heater in the refug. blue herms kill each other (and snails).....and lots of other beneficial stuff like cope nests and the like. hermies are killers. try a snail only cleaning crew......some turbos and a few nessies to dig up your sand (later when you have algae starting to grown on ur sand. GL so far so good!
