Back in the hobby after 6 year hiatus

They are doing very well, the blues opened up about 12 hours later. I have a knack at keeping soft corals, xenia, zoanthids etc and growing them very fast.

What other frags do you have that you would recommend? I would like some Orange Ricordia, I like bright colors.

How are they different from any other photosynthetic coral?

I've got some King Midas Gold zoas, EvilMel's green skirts zoas, neon green candy canes (only a single 4 head frag available), and I've got some ricordea but not enough to frag right now. I can probably get you a frag of some eagle eye zoas and a frag of those zoas called ultra-blues (or something like that). They're similar to Tubs Blues except some people consider them to be bluer.

Hmmm...trying to think of others in the softies/LPS category. What about some blue clove polyps? They're pretty gorgeous and they grow like MAD.
 
Did he talk to any of your board members about it? I know he didn't talk to Joel.

I am willing to assume that he isn't trying to take over the club and is just trying to help it out, however misguided his means...but we will have to see. Either way, seriously inappropriate actions, in my opinion.

It's growing like a weed. It finally got big enough to scrape off the rubble and glue on the live rock. This stuff is very cool, and I think it's like hummingbirds, they still don't really know exactly what makes it tick! Good stuff!

Yes, they're his pics and he created that page of FB. He messaged me on FB from his personal account about it.

FB's policy on intellectual property is complicated, but there is recourse if need be. I hope that it need not come to that.

No, Mel, he did not talk to any members of ETRC's board of directors, nor is he a member of ETRC (i.e., never applied or paid dues).

He was at the meeting at Scott's house and seemed like a cool guy. I assumed he'd soon become a member of ETRC and a valuable one at that. I agree that the actions seem/are inappropriate; let's hope that the intentions are not and that this is some kind of misunderstanding.

Glad to hear the xenia is doing well! It's interesting how much more the pom pom pulses than the other kind in the video. I wonder what the reason is for that.

Mike, you might want to address issues raised in post #51 and #52 in this thread, personal message(s) that have been sent to you here on RC, and post(s) on the relevant FB page's wall sooner rather than later though. Inquiring minds want to know.

Yeah, but the other Xenia pulses more when it's not in current for some reason.

Then YOU please start another thread where you address these issues. You are playing nice with us here but to all appearences are announcing on FB a different reef club in Knoxville that uses exactly the same name as ours -- something that appears rude at best and dishonest at worst. If this is a misunderstanding, then please address it before things go sour. Thanks.

On FB it is "Eastern Tennessee Reef Club" - not "East Tennessee Reef Club". Awful close though. "East Tennessee" is used in some of the text.

If you think we are supposed to stay on topic...you are definitely not a part of ETRC. No offense. Hijacks are a way of life and completely celebrated around here.
