Now that my tank is established and everything is peachy my concern turns to what happens if the power goes out for an extended period. I am going to purchase a backup generator but i was wondering if anyone had suggestions or tips to my purchase. Also what does everyone else have?

As always thanks for the help.

You're limited only by what you're willing to spend.
Harbor Freight has a universal fuel (gas, propane, or natural gas) generator that will run not only your tank, but your whole house, and probably a few lights for a neighbor. It starts automatically when power goes out, and it can be yours, with installation for about 3 grand.
I bought a used 5,000 watt generator for $250.00 It's more than enough to run my pumps, and a few other necessities (fridge, TV, lights....)

I have the same as Larry only mine is 5500 watts. When the power goes out i plug it into the 220 line that runs to the garage and make sure you shut the main breaker off in your breaker box if you go this route. The only drawback is you wont know when the power is back on.

Very well thanks for the input. I started at something for just the tank now I am thinking why not something for the fridge tv, computer.
