bacterial infection??

Algeafix may have contributed to your fish's condition btw...I recommend not using things like algaefix in the future. Only a few "fixes" like that work, and can cause more problems than they supposedly solve.

THat stinks, man. It does look like Ich to me too. I hope it all works out for you.

I would stay away from Copper or any formalin based treatment with the Engineer. They are scaleless and the copper can be more dangerous to them than the parasite.

the API algaefix has been raved about in quite a few threads as being reef safe and effective. i am not saying that did not contribute to the problem. i am considering doing nothing at this point, but keeping the water very clean. i pitch some more carbon to get rid of the rest of the crap in the tank. i am running the UV and throwing away the algaefix. i do think i am going to stick with the vinegar dosing at low levels (10ml/day for 350gal tot vol).

thoughts?

I've used Algaefix In the past and It never caused anything like what you have going on.
On the other hand If you started to dose Vinegar and went to Fast to the dose your doing currently, That may Indeed be what caused your problems! The Vinegar should have been spread over many weeks at very small Increases 1.00 ML per week to not shock your system! Stopping the Vinegar Is a good Idea and I think with a little luck you may save your fish, But they also may be beyond help.
