bad ballast

well when i was on my way to ohio to pick up my new camper, i guess my ballast decided to take a dump. i get home on monday, and my lights never came on. i asked my wife if the lights had come on in the last couple of days, and she says "i think so, but not sure". she walks by the tank a million times a day but did notice the lights not coming on!!

so i assume it is the ballast, i removed it and plugged it into another plugin and put my multi-tester on it. it had voltage but not much, i think 6vac. so i bought an icecap electronic ballast and it showed up last night. i found it on my porch this morning. i plug it in and it works great. so my system has been without reef lights for 7 days! i did bring in my dual halogen shop lights and would run them for a couple hours a day but they didn't look like they were doing much.

everything except for the green slimers look good. i may reduce the time they lights are on to reacclimate them to light. i

Yeah that ballast you had was garbage to begin with i remember we talked about it several times. I am very happy that you purchase the icecap ballast!!!! I am pretty sure it made a huge difference on the bulb output as well?
