Bad Crab?

Caught this little bugger on a SPS today. Pretty sure he is bad news but would like to confirm.

Yes, thats a "bad" one to have as they are known to crush and then eat stony coral polyps.

As a general rule, the smooth ones are good , the hairy one's are bad.

My emerald mithrax crab is hairy. It's legs are hairier than the crab pictured in this thread.
I'm not questioning your rule, as it is generally true.
I'm just kinda saying: what's up with the emerald crab?
Perhaps he hasn't been told the 'rule'.

I'm sorry, i should have clarified that statement better. I mean as far as the type of crabs found within the branches of SPS, not "any" crab. HTH.

my guess is a teddy bear crab...look at the sharp claws..usuallly the good ones have cupped pinchers

that's a Cymo. It's a commensal coral crab.
