Bad day in Horseheads ...

If things happen in threes someone is in for bad luck pretty soon. Jerry sprung a leak over the weekend and the HOB overflow on my 30g clogged up today.

Went down to the basement to get something this morning and things didn't sound right in the sump. I went in to the room with the sump and there was an inch of water on the floor. Looks like the HOB overflow on the 30g I have in the basement clogged a little so the return was pumping water into the tank faster than the drain could handle. I do not know how long the tank was overflowing but the sump was empty and the return pump for the 90g display upstairs was running dry. LUckily I had just made 30g of fresh salt water for a planned water change so I could fill things up quickly. I don't think the pump burned out, it seems to be working OK so far.

I disconected the 30 from the system and it is running stand alone right now. I was planning on taking the 30g down anyway so this may be a good time.

man I'm kind of glad i'm breaking my tank down now! This seems like a bad time around our area. And jeez Dave! Isn't ur sump a chest freezer? How many gallons is it? Hope everything turns out ok. And if you need to get things out of the 30 and have some storage for a month or so, my tank is empty, but full of water
