my favorite fish died today. my potters had been a model citzen for the last few years. did a waterchange last night ,and all appeared well. shortly after i had a large coral spawn. the potters went crazy eating some of the thousands of polyps released. other inverts and fish seem fine.

Awww man...sry to hear about this!

On a more positive note, it's nice your system is healthy enough for your corals to spawn!

i'm scratching my head on this one. maybe the spawn was toxic? or maybe something funky with the WC . just weird to see a fish go from tip top, to dead in a few hours.

As coincidental as it may seem, I also had a coral spawning event last night in my tank as well. And it happened about 30-40 minutes after a 25% WC too. All kinds of little white "eggs" floating in the water. Very strange.

I have to think it was a spawning event because shortly after the WC, my corals, particularly zoas, chalices, trumpets, and acans all almost immediately slimed up. Then, after that, it looked like snow almost in my water.
