Could anyone please identify these pests? And a possible removal suggestion? I have tried siphoning them out, but they always come back. I guess they are a type of nudibranch (sp)?

Thanks for the help.

"A more recent nudibranch pest that affects SPS coral aquariums has recently become prevalent, and prefers to consume corals of the genus Montipora and Anacropora. These nudibranch are very small, attaining a maximum size only up to half of a centimeter, are pale white to tan in color, and have many branch-like appendages along their back. They are very damaging pests in a reef aquarium that can multiply and consume corals in a very short period of time."

Ugg, thanks a lot for the link Paintbug. Sounds like thats it for sure :(

i hate seeing those things!! may want to check with the SPS forums. someone there may know of a good way to rid them for good.

I had those on a plating monti once. The only thing that seemed to work for me was to give them a qwuick freshwater dip and pluck them off with tweezers.

Thanks for the info and suggestions. I think Im just going to let them eat the monti bases I have and let them starve off after that. I only have 2 maybe 3 small bases and I wasnt really thinking of keeping those types anyway.

Thanks again

i had the exact same ones in my tank. they were tearing up my zoos. get a long turkey baster and suck them out. keep an eye out, check often.

Oh shoot!!!! I have one in my tank too! I thought it was cute!!!!!! I had no idea it was bad, it was a hitchhiker and I htought it was just a baby nudi!!! Great, I have seen it a thousand times and smiled at it, no idea it was bad. Well, I guess I'll have to just keep checking my corals and pluck it off when I see it!
