Bad *** rock

So I just acquired a 75 tank the other day. Time to up grade from the 55. Needed a little more rock. I put in my online order for local pickup at 745 am today. I told him I was around his house for work and would like to get 2 base pieces around 8-10 pounds each. Also asked for some arches or even a complete swim through. By 830 I had an email saying that it was no problem. At 930am I stopped at his house to get my two killer pieces. I just give the man a description and "poof" there it is. 2 for 2 on my orders.

So TampaBaySaltwater allows you to pick up rock rather than have it shipped? I live near Tampa and shipping would be stupid.

Thanks!

In the past I have not seen a problem from Richard allowing customers to pick up orders from his warehouse just email him and keep in mind he is a busy man and seems to be on the water as much as possible so doing a pickup must be scheduled ahead of time.:spin2::spin3::spin2:

Funny story...

I actually emailed him right before I posted this. I posted here figuring just what you were saying, that the owner of a big live rock company would be too busy to get RIGHT BACK to me. By the time I was done posting that earlier message, I had a return email!

Customer for life here. lol He will work with me to arrange pick up and does not charge to do so ala Glass Cages. Which means more rock in my tank. Now I can get the whole 250lbs I wanted without having to pay shipping! AND it's only $1.85 a pound?!!?!?!?! Seriously? lol, Maybe I get 300 pounds...

yep thats Richard for you he is great I cant wait until things in our lives settle and we can afford to do a package from him. We started with a freshwater 2.5 with wild fish since have acquired 3 55 gal tanks and sold 2 of them keeping the third as a possible sump/refugium we also have been given 2 ten gallon tanks with a double stand we are keeping for quarantine tanks A 35 tall and stand we are considering selling to fund part of our lights and have purchased a used 75 gal with stand and canopy for $75 it was to good of a deal to pass up. Right now we have a gar pike and bluegills in the 75 with random other things we have caught. We had store bought freshwater fish but found we enjoyed catching minnows and other critters in local streams and ponds more. The animals seem to thrive and have much more personality plus as an added bonus they are free. Our goal is to upgrade from the 75 to a 125 then go saltwater with TBS goods as after loads of time and research, locally and on the web, Richard has the best products hands down and even with shipping his prices are amazing. More often than not lower than live rock and sand that is not half the quality with 1/4 the life on it. We don't know how he does it but love him for it just the same and I look here for new pictures of happy tanks often. I am regularly stunned by what I see.

Helix, I also share your enjoyment for wild caught fish! They have soooo much more peronality! I have a small (VERY small) bluegill and a shellcracker right now in a 20 gallon along with a crayfish, pleco, apple snail. And I paid nothing for them! And watching my fish eat live minnows is a blast!

I too would like to order from TBS but I have yet to get a saltwater tank. I'm sure when I do I won't be dissapointed!

Just remember he is a one man band, so when he is out diving, or living, he may not email back for a while. As above, he is a class act and will generally get back asap. If not, just wait; he is working.;)
