Bad way to start the day

Woke up, went downstairs, glanced over at my tank. Noticed my favorite coral, my big fat happy Red Cap Monti was toppled off its shelf rock. No big deal right? WRONG. It landed face down on a GD STINGING MUSHROOM! The same mushroom that stung my chalice.

Do these heal quickly, slowly or not at all? This was the best pic I could get in with the cell phone this morning. Notice the lower right hand side of it looks white, that's not the lighting that the color of the coral now.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Given good parameters it should recover no problem. The part that was stung may die off, but you can either break that off or let the new growth grow over it.

I would break it off as the growth process would be faster IMO
