My first shipment of LR had four mantis in it - only about 30 pounds of rock!
I caught one before it went into the tank and tried to catch the other three with the inverted bottle technique but that didn't work after two days so I put the rocks that the mantis called home into a 2nd tank for now. Well that leaves one mantis in my display (no fish yet) and I want to get him out.
My question is, since my first trap failed after 48 hours (I baited it with frozen shrimp) how long is too long to have bait-shrimp in the tank? Would it have a negative effect on the water if in there too long?
I'm trying again this weekend to get the last one out - he's popping away and afraid that he will kill everything once I get my critter shipment next week.
Thanks!
