I've had this coral for a while now and it was sold to me as a dendro. However I'm not so sure anymore. I searched this forum for balano info compared to dendro and im quite confused. The things that make me think its a balano is that it has more oval shaped heads and it has clear tentacles. It also is has never completely opened for me during the daylight hours. It may also be a dendro that is not accustomed to eating during the day so it doesn't open but i would like some opinions from everyone.

mine also have the same problem as the first time, but now it seen very good to me open all day long. i think you need to move them around litter bit. mine is call Balanophylia.

Is that a recent pic? It looks very underfed. This is a balano I got that was pretty starved and roughed up. It was also very pale in color.

More recent, I had to chop it up so I could feed all the heads, it's all the lighter small pieces in the front, hard to tell but there is no dead rock between polyps now, it is all covered over with flesh

thanks

Ive seen the word thrown around a lot but for some reason I assumed it was smaller. Pretty large head there. So thats the in demand "white" rhizo eh??

I just thought I recalled some recent posts where the white ones were talked about being rare or soemthing...dont know....dont listen to me. :D

the tentacles or whatever you call them on that thing look trippy.....look different than the orange ones I just looked at in a different thread

sorry for the sidetrack....I wont stay long

some body should post a show-off thread here in this forum though....cool stuff
