ball anemone problems big time!

ok, i just posted a thread about an id of an anemone, but, now it has been identified as a ball anemone, and it is the type that doesnt mind light, it is out day and night, well.............. I thought i only had one, but after closer inspecting i have discovered atleast 20!!! i have an infestation!! do i need to remove these with the juice or are these harmless? they are everywhere though...... for anyone needing to id one, they are completely transparent, although some are not, but they always have white dots or balls at the ends of the tentacles, and i know they arent actually anemones, in a different family completely, but, thats what they are known as so.... please help!!!!!!

I've never seen any in the LFS, but have read a little about them (I've actually been looking for the orange colored one).

They are supposed to be capable of catching fish, and would also be able to sting corals, so having 20 of them in a tank is probably not desirable.

Although they are not a true anemone, Joes Juice will still probably work (I've accidentally gotten a little on my mushrooms and they don't like it). I suspect the ball anemone does not have the same regenerative capabilities as aptasia anemones, so scrapping them off the rocks may also be an option.

yes it does, they are not true anemones, they are Pseudocorynactis Caribbeorum and the lfs store thought that they would be safe and didnt think that they would effect the corals or fish, but it says to feed the fish flesh lol. hmmmmm. lol something that eats fish flesh doesnt sound too safe.. if i knew how to remove them safely i would send some to you pretty much free, i just killed some on a rock i had that was very small, i would have sent them too you free. if you still want some i can try to get them, they can turn orange as they mature i think, but let me know. they do look pretty neat.

they do look pretty neat, i dont have any on smaller rocks though, any ideas how i can get the off and to attach to a smaller rock for shipping, ill give them to you free, just pay shipping which would probably be around $8, i have around 14-20 of them, i keep finding some more. Let me know some ideas on how to get them off safely.

which makes sense to me. most LPS corals eat fish flesh given a chance, yet do nothing to the fish. they may eat a dying or dead small fish, but not kill the live one. and they look cool, too

Wow, thank! Just take pointed pliers/wirecutter and nip a chip of the rock off under one. If you scrape them, the foot will grow back. I moved one just to see if I could reposition it. The foot grew back and the original didn't skip a beat and was open for business in a few days. PM me a paypal to send to . I would just toss a bit of macro in the bag to cushion them. Don't worry if they are scraped off and free floating. I only need a few to survive and attach.
