Ballast installation

One of the ballast's is dead on my halide fixture so I need to install a new one. I have an icecap 250 ballast that I'm going to put in it. The stock ballast in my fixture are inside the fixture itself so it's sort of hard to see whats going on inside there. How hard is it to install a new ballast and what tools will I need?

for me its easy. but for you it should be OK. first trace all wires to see where they go to. mark them if need be. your ballast will have its wiring schematic on it. hook up wires according to ballast. the round dots on the schematic are connections. some connections may have more than two wires. if new ballast doesn't fit. mount on outside some how.

oh sorry i see you had a MH.. thats even easier. it should be power in and power out. pretty easy.

It doesn't look like a power in, power out job to me....

you must have 120volts in and than an output. a ballast is a transformer. in put is 120v output is some crazy voltage and amperage.2wire in put, 2 wire output. got pics?
