ballast types

how can someone tell what ballast they are useing . the one i have only has (ansi m57 ) anyone no what this mean ? and can tell me anything about it? i no that it is a 2x 175mh thats about it

ANSI assigns designations for magnetic ballasts depending on their capacity and type.
That M57 is a magnetic ballast for 175 watt metal halide bulb for US type probe start bulbs.
