Are these safe to keep with clams? I have always heard they were. But every since I added one to my tank. I have clams dying for no reason. Does anyone here keep one with their clams?

when they are young they are about the best for keeping Pyrams in control, but when they are adults they will pick at clams and kill them.

I think their safe. Sometimes fish in captivity will not act the way they "should".

I have a buddy with 2 of them and he has several clams.
They are generally considered reef safe for what it's worth.

Good luck!

I understand they are geat for controling parasitic snails, dont have a wrass as of yet but the previous post about the adults conserns me,I have never heard of them attacking clams but now I will be cautios about adding one, has anyone else had this problem with the adults?

I have removed the wrasse from my 180 with the clams. My clams are opening again and doing well. I really think the wrasse was tormenting the clams.

I've got one in my tank, no problem so far. I've had to get rid of fish before, usually tangs, but now I'll keep an eye on this wrasse and my clams. I have a large razor wrasse that I was told might nip at my clams, have had him close to a year with no problems.
He like to sleep between 2 of my clams.

Banana wrasse and yellow coris wrasse look similar, but they're different species. Banana wrasse get twice as big. Just FYI.
