Is it possible or will they fight? I mistankingly took a banded maroon thiking my stripped was a banded and they started to pair doing the dance, but now they wont get near each other.

Part of the problem might be that your post is confusing. I've never heard of "banded" or "striped" maroon clownfish. There are white-striped maroons and gold-striped maroons, which are color variants of the same species.

Pairing maroon clownfish is difficult, especially if the two clowns aren't very different in size. Keep an eye on them and be prepared to separate them if you see any signs of fighting.

Do a search on this forum for pairing maroon clownfish, and you'll be able to read about some similar experiences.

I have been researching and learning. Thank you for the advice. My concern is that since there is variation on the markings on my clowns, will they pair? Below is what the two fish look like.

They started to pair up. There was the dancing and tail spins in mid water, with no nipping. then nothing, just seperation on opposite sides of the tank.

Please not that the damage done to one of the fish is not from my other clown, but from the gentleman's mean maroon clown that I got it from.

Just a side note and someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe GSM's have been given a seperate species name and that is P. epigramma, where as the WSM's still remain P. biacleatus.

They are both Gold striped maroons. They won't care whether or not one has complete stripes and the other doesn't. Their similar (what seems to be) large size might be a problem however. Maroons that size are usually females. If they are getting along right now that's great, but I would keep a close eye on them.

Interesting! I read in Scott Michael's book that a separate species name had been considered, but I didn't realize it was a done deal. Thanks for the information. :D
