I have a pair of bangaii cardinal that i have had for about two years and just noticed that one of them(i"m guessing the female) is so swollen in the abdomen that she must be ready to give birth.Unfortunately, they are in my 400 gal. reef display. Any chance of any of the fry making it? Experiences, anyone? Never posted in the breeding forum before, by the way because I never figured any of my salt water fish would breed.

The bangaii larvae are probably going to get eaten the minute they come out of the parents mouth.
It depends on the type of fish you have in your tank but as you have a 400 gal i would assume that you also have a lot of different fish species.
The only way to get them out alive is to take the male out of the tank when he has the eggs it its mouth.

Good luck

If your gonna pull the male out, wait till after the eggs have hatched, if you pull the male while they are still eggs he will either spit them out or swallow them.
