Question about cardinal fish eggs. I have a pair and today notice that the female started today to do the left side right side dance by the male. I am new to cardinal fish but have done some research but I guess my question is, Is when does tyhe male fertilize the eggs, cause I wqas watching the dance for awhile and then left and when came back to observe again I saw a clump of eggs at bottom of tank. they were ther for probably 20 minutes time frame. Does the male fertilize the eggs once the female releases the eggs or does the male swim over them and fertilize them. Also made an egg tumbler because the male did not pick up eggs, do not know if I got eggs to soon cause the female was trying to corral the male to eggs for pick up or what ever he needs to do. He did not seem interested in them so into to tumbler eggs went.
Questions:
When does male fertilize eggs?
How can I tell if eggs are viable?
Should I have left the eggs alone(saw hermit crab making trek towards them.)?
Any info would be great
