Need help please
I have a pair of Bangaii Cardinals one of them is fine but the other started hovering near the top yesterday. She's eating fine and swims around the open area some but seems to prefer to hang out at the back wall and near the top of the tank. The male is staying close to her and seems kind of protective. I finally got a decent look tonight and it looks like the edge of her fins are a bit frayed. I don't see any specks of white on either fish's fins. These are the only 2 fish in the tank along with the inverts.
Paramaters are
nitrates 0
nitrites 0
ammonia 0
pH 8.3
temp 79.9
sg 1.024
I had taken water to the lfs on Sunday because my water got a little cloudy looking last Thursday and I couldn't figure out what it was. My sg then was a little high 1.027 (my hydrometer is off by .002) and my alkalinity was 8.1 so i've buffered it back up.
Any ideas on what might be causing the problem with her fins?
