Banggai cardinal fish

Is there anyway to tell a male from a female? I bought 2 from my local LFS and then had an unfortunate accident because I believe they were both males and the LFS I'm pretty sure knew that and didn't particularly care.

Thanks!

When I was at the lfs getting mine they actually searched it for me to try and figure it out. Not sure how true this is but he found a page saying that males will have two tiny bumps on their body right below the tail and the female will have one. No idea if this is true though.

I've seen reports of that as well. Someone posted in here about it not too long ago with pictures. I haven't tried it myself, but plan to the next time I'm getting some BC.

I have tried the pectoral bump identification on my BC and all I can say is that, at least for mine, it is hard to determine short of pulling the fish out of the tank and laying it out on a table
