Had 3 for about two weeks. Today came home and one was gone. Not in tank, not hiding, not in overflow, sump....have a canopy so didn't jump for it....
Bizarre. Not even a trace of his body either. It's my first tank so not very experienced. Have the two other cardinals, bicolor blenny, kole tang, small mag foxface, paired clowns and fire and cleaner shrimp. And cuc of snails and crabs. 90 gallon mixed reef with good water parameters. Any ideas??

If you've got hermits anything dead will be gone within 12h of dying, if it did die it has long since become hermit food. I would just be concerned about why it died at this point. What water parameters do you consider "good"?

If he died he was probably killed by the other banggai. I know I had read to buy 3 to 5 when getting them but as they sexually matured (which can happen as early as 5 months) the one dominant female really started abusing the others.

77 degrees

Calcium 460
Ammonia 0
Nitrates under 5
Nitrites 0
Sg 1.025
Still missing.... Assuming he was killed and eaten as you guys mentioned. Oh well, less poop. For now. Thx everyone

I've had 5 for over a year and they get along fine, but I have a 140. Depending on your CUC, a body could be eaten overnight and you would never find it.

90 gallon display. 10 turban snails, 10 dwarf blue hermits, 6 nassarious snails, cleaner shrimp, fire shrimp, peppermint shrimp. Several bristleworms that came in on live rock.
Had to have been eaten....checked everywhere.
